CUPRA Raval Launch Film

World premiere launch film · 2026

One reel to launch a car

A 45-second film of the CUPRA Raval's world premiere, commissioned by CUPRA Netherlands. The evening itself was the premiere: one night, one reveal, no second chances for any frame in the edit. The finished film went out on the brand's channels to document the moment.

Full production ownership: concept, shot list, filming, edit, colour, sound design and client revision rounds.

Act 01

Concept

CUPRA staged the Raval's world premiere as a club night, and the film leans into that: no daylight, no driving, just a covered car, a room full of anticipation and one moment where everything changes. The concept treated the unveil like a drop: tease the shape, build the tension, reveal, then let the guests' reactions carry the final act.

Act 02

Structure

Forty-five seconds mapped to the arc of the evening. The cover comes off exactly once, so the edit was planned around that single unrepeatable beat.

Act 03

Production

Single-operator shoot in a dark venue: available stage light, haze, and a fast standard zoom picked for flexibility, wide enough for the room, tight enough for the details, with no time to change lenses. Gimbal for the flowing moves around the car, handheld where the energy of the crowd called for it. Event conditions mean one take per moment; the reveal happens once, and the film has to be standing in the right place when it does.

Act 04

Grade

The venue set the palette: purple and magenta stage light against the matte green body, deep blacks, and desaturated passages that give the anticipation act its own texture. Graded in Resolve, with the reveal's smoke and saturated light kept just on the right side of clipping.

CUPRA Raval Launch Film: raval color node graph

The node graph in Resolve: a colour-managed pipeline from noise reduction to the final LUT, with parallel correctors for balance, saturation and the three look nodes.

Act 05

Sound design

The first half of the film is carried by sound design, not music: risers and whooshes built in Fairlight mark every cut while the room holds its breath. The track drops the moment the cover comes off, and the club groove carries the rest of the film, closing on a single sting under the brand endframe. Mixed for social playback, so it works with sound on and still cuts through muted on a feed.

CUPRA Raval Launch Film: raval fairlight session

The Fairlight session: eleven tracks, with the licensed track as the spine, riser and whoosh layers marking the cuts, and room ambience keeping the venue alive underneath.

Act 06

Client revisions

Launch content moves through brand review, even after the event. The film went through structured revision rounds with CUPRA Netherlands, each with consolidated feedback and a turnaround commitment, and went out on the brand's channels while the premiere was still the story.
